Jordan Yates' Beverley Bullet Preview. (01/09/2018)

The Beverley Bullet is a very well known sprint that’s a Listed affair contested over a distance of five furlongs and it’s headed once again by the fan favourite that is Take Cover for David Griffiths. He won this under a penalty last year and was last seen when finishing a solid sixth in the Nunthorpe. David Allan once again is on board and he’s the 11/4 market leader.

Next up in the betting is another horse who’s been an admirable performer on the level throughout the years and that’s of course none other than Final Venture for Paul Midgley. He arrives here off the back off a second placed finish at York last week and also finished second in this last year off a few pounds higher. He can be found trading at a general 7/2 and is the mount of Luke Norris.

Paul Midgley has two other representatives in the field and they come in the form of Line Of Reason (18/1) and Tanasoq (20/1). Richard Fahey surprisingly has just the one runner in the the field and that’s the ever present Mr Lupton who comes here off the back of a modest effort in the Nunthorpe. He’s a general 4/1 chance and is the mount of Paul Hanagan. Nunthorpe winning trainer Bryan Smart sends Mythmaker (8/1) here and he’s partnered up with Graham Lee and the in form Elnadim Star takes her place in the line up for trainer Kevin Ryan and is a general 13/2 chance. Kevin Stott looks to take the ride.

VERDICT: A real competitive affair to get your head around and whilst id love to see Take Cover win this again I’m going to take a chance on FINAL VENTURE. He got back to form with a second placed effort at York the last day and he finished second in this off six pounds higher last year. Ill chance him to go one better this time.

FINAL VENTURE – 7/2
