Dante Stakes Verdict. (Jordan Yates' Dante Festival 2018 Preview)

The Dante itself heads affairs on Day Two of the Dante Meeting at York this week and it's seen as one of the main trials for next months Investec Derby at Epsom.

Roaring Lion heads affairs this year for John Gosden following his fifth place effort in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. He's been slightly disappointing this term so far following his defeat on his penultimate start when odds on for the Craven Stakes. He does bring the strongest form to the table though and for that reason he's trading at a general 6/4 mark.

Mildenberger is likely to be a tough nut to crack here for Mark Johnston and the highly touted Wells Farhh Go for Tim Easterby could well play a big role also.

The one I like here though is CROSSED BATON also for John Gosden, he won bravely from the front the last day at Epsom which isn't easy to do and the horses in behind him have since gone on to frank the form at Chester. Frankie Dettori is on board and he can be found trading at a general 5/1 mark.

CROSSED BATON - (5/1) (Jockey: L Dettori - Trainer: J H M Gosden)
