John Of Gaunt Stakes Preview
I'm off to Haydock this weekend as it's a fairly local track to me and it's the day of the Group 3 John Of Gaunt Stakes and it's currently headed by Godolphin charge Home Of The Brave for Hugo Palmer following his reappearance victory in a Listed contest at Leicester last month.
He's currently trading at around 11/4 at the top of the market and is a classy sort expected to give a big showing again here.
Tabarrak for Richard Hannon is also in the line up here and comes here off the back of a Listed contest victory also and a decent second behind the impressive Mix and Mingle on his reappearance. He will also be expected to put in a bold showing and often finds the frame in his races, he's trading at a general 6/1.
One I'd be willing to take to take a chance on here though is the seven year old Breton Rock for David Simcock. He was a brilliant third behind Ribchester in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury and that is the clear form of the race, he also won a Group 2 and Group 3 last year and a repeat of that reappearance run in the Lockinge certainly gives him a big chance of getting in the frame again here.
Jordan's Selection: Breton Rock (11/2) EW
